About this tour
This compact break uses two contrasting days to sample the birdlife of Alicante province. The opening circuit concentrates on southern wetlands, where open water, reedbeds, saltmarsh and surrounding fields can hold scarce waterfowl, breeding marsh birds, migrants and raptors.
The second day moves north toward Denia and its shoreline and headlands. Beaches, sea cliffs and Mediterranean scrub broaden the search to plovers, gulls, terns, swifts and rocky-country birds such as Blue Rock Thrush.
