About this tour

Follow a broad north Indian birding route from the wetlands near Delhi to the Himalayan foothills. Over fifteen days, the journey links Sultanpur, Keoladeo National Park at Bharatpur, the Chambal River, Corbett National Park, Pangot and Sat Tal. These stages bring together open grassland, shallow lakes, river channels, sal forest and wooded mountain slopes.

The first part concentrates on wetland and river birds. Sultanpur provides an introductory field session before two visits to Keoladeo, explored on foot and by cycle rickshaw. A separate excursion to the Chambal combines river birding with the possibility of gharial, Mugger Crocodile and Gangetic River Dolphin, followed by time in Agra.

Corbett changes the setting to river edges, forest and grassland. Birding around the Kosi River and inside the park is combined with wildlife safaris when permits and availability allow. The route then climbs to Pangot and Sat Tal for several days in Himalayan foothill habitat, where pheasants, laughingthrushes, woodpeckers, minivets, forktails and other forest birds become the focus.

Accommodation, ground transport, the listed meals, park visits, safaris and local birding services are included according to the confirmed itinerary. The exact lodging plan can change if limited forest accommodation is unavailable. Current dates, final price, safari permits and room arrangements are confirmed after inquiry.
