Grasslands National Park Birding Tour from Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw or Swift Current – Best Prairie Birds 2026
A private three-day self-drive journey from Saskatoon into Grasslands National Park and southern Saskatchewan’s prairie and shorebird country.
About this tour
Travel south from Saskatoon to the west block of Grasslands National Park, combining native prairie birding with selected wetland stops along the route. Chaplin Lake, Reed Lake, Herbert Marsh or Douglas Provincial Park may be included when timing and conditions make them productive.
Most observation is from roads or short trails. In the park, the guide searches open grassland and badlands habitat for prairie specialities, raptors and other birds using current field conditions to choose stops.
The private three-day tour is available on many dates from April through September for parties of up to four. Participants provide their own or rented vehicle and arrange meals and accommodation; the planned route may change with weather, access and time.
