About this tour

Join Samuel Bloch for a private bird photography workshop on Suomenlinna, the island fortress reached by ferry from central Helsinki. The session is designed for all skill levels, from experienced bird photographers to visitors who want to try bird photography in a relaxed setting.

The outing aims to arrive about three hours before sunset and continue until dark. Samuel helps with fieldcraft, positioning, camera approach, composition and bird behaviour while keeping a respectful distance from birds and island residents.

Suomenlinna is especially productive from late April to July, with approachable coastal species such as Barnacle Goose, Common Eider, Arctic Tern, Eurasian Oystercatcher, Common Gull, Northern Wheatear and White Wagtail.
