About this tour

This private eight-day journey crosses a wide range of Himalayan birding habitats in Uttarakhand. It begins with the drive from Haridwar or Dehradun to Mandal, then uses Mandal and Chopta as bases for several highland field days before moving west through Ranikhet to Sattal.

The mountain section includes a full day around Mandal, birding in Chopta and a day on the Tungnath trail. The route then descends through Ranikhet, where forest and open slopes provide a different bird community. Final sessions around Sattal include Chaanfi, local hides, Bend road, Garur Tal, the Studio trail and Shyamkhet.

Exact dates, accommodation, road logistics and price are confirmed after inquiry. The daily plan can be adjusted around weather, road conditions, altitude, access and current bird activity. All wildlife observations depend on season and the behavior of wild birds.
