Petronia petronia
The Rock Sparrow (Petronia petronia) is a small passerine bird found in rocky habitats across southern Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia. It is characterized by its grey-brown plumage with streaks on the back and wings, a pale throat, and a distinctive yellow patch on the face. Rock Sparrows are often found in arid and rocky areas, including mountainous regions, cliffs, and stony slopes. They are social birds and often form small flocks outside the breeding season. Their diet consists of seeds, insects, and other small invertebrates. The Rock Sparrow is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is stable.
