About this tour
Combine birding and walking in the protected landscapes of northern Burgos. The programme includes two guided birding routes by 4x4 and two walking days, with accommodation and meals at Posada Molino del Canto.
Birding habitats range from limestone canyons and plateaux to oak and beech woodland, pasture and the Ebro Reservoir. The walking days feature the Ebro Canyon between Cortiguera and Valdelateja and the waterfalls and plateaux around Orbaneja del Castillo.

Arrive at the inn and begin the stay with a homemade dinner.
Explore valleys, limestone canyons and villages, looking for vultures, Egyptian Vulture, eagles, Alpine Swift, finches and other characteristic birds. Continue after a picnic before returning to the inn.
Follow a self-guided walk between Cortiguera and Valdelateja with broad views into the Ebro Canyon.
Bird the plateaux and northern woodland for larks, shrikes, buntings, harriers, tits, woodpeckers, goshawks and treecreepers, then continue to the reservoir for herons, ducks, cormorants and waders.
Choose a shorter or longer walk around Orbaneja del Castillo, combining the canyon landscape, river, waterfalls and open plateau country.
Breakfast is followed by independent departure.

No. These are wild-bird experiences, so the guide adapts the route to the season, conditions and current bird activity.
Do I need to bring binoculars?
Identification guides, binoculars and a telescope are available, though guests may prefer their own familiar optics.

Yes. Weather, access and bird activity may require a different route while preserving the character of the programme.
