A seven-day self-drive spring journey from Saskatoon through Saskatchewan wetlands, prairie and grassland parks during the migration and breeding season.
About this tour
Explore central and southern Saskatchewan during spring migration on a seven-day guided circuit from Saskatoon. The programme combines major wetland sites with prairie grasslands, river valleys and a three-day section in and around Grasslands National Park.
Planned highlights include Quill Lakes, Saskatoon riverbank parks, Prairie Lakes, Porter Lake, Beaver Creek, Chaplin and Reed lakes. The route is designed around seasonal shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors and prairie birds, but weather, access and bird movements may change individual stops.
The current departure runs from May 11 to 17, 2027. Participants use a personal or rented non-smoking vehicle and arrange their own meals, accommodation and park fees; the starting rate applies when a party of up to three can transport the guide throughout the tour.

Seven-day Saskatchewan spring circuit
Begin with Quill Lakes, then combine Saskatoon riverbank and Prairie Lakes birding before moving through prairie grasslands, Porter Lake and Beaver Creek. Continue west to Chaplin and Reed lakes, spend the final overnight section around Grasslands National Park, and return through additional wetland habitat selected for current conditions.
