About this tour

Explore southwest Saskatchewan during the peak breeding season on an eight-day route through wetlands, prairie and upland forest. The itinerary links waterbird and shorebird sites with grassland habitats and the distinctive higher country of Cypress Hills.

Planned stops include Buffalo Pound, the Chaplin lake complex, Cypress Hills, Old Man on His Back Plateau, Pine Cree Coulee, Grasslands National Park and Saskatchewan Landing. Access to some unpaved sites depends on road and weather conditions, and individual stops may change with current field conditions.

The current programme runs from July 9 to 16, 2027. The starting rate applies to a party of up to three that provides a non-smoking vehicle and transports the guide from Saskatoon and back; guests arrange their own meals, accommodation and park entry fees.
