About this tour
Travel northwest from Saskatoon to Radisson Lake Important Bird Area, then follow roads around the lake for waterfowl and shorebirds. Surrounding grassland and aspen add habitat for prairie and woodland birds.
Seasonal possibilities range from grebes, ducks, terns and breeding shorebirds to migrating swans, geese, sandpipers, yellowlegs and plovers. The guide identifies birds and sets up a spotting scope, but water levels, migration and weather determine what is present.
The core private tour lasts four hours and is a leisurely self-drive outing. Participants supply their own or rented vehicle. A separate nine-hour combination with Redberry Lake can be discussed after inquiry and is not represented by the duration shown here.
