Early March sits between seasons in Hungary: wintering geese, ducks and raptors may still be present while the first spring movement and territorial song begin. This route uses that overlap across lowland wetlands, puszta and northern mountain habitat.
From a Kecskemet base, the programme reaches Tiszaalpar and Lake Tisza, then the Belapatfalva mountain area before returning through Apaj, Boddi-szek, Kelemen-szek and Pusztaszer. The contrast supports searches for scarce geese and eagles, Great Bustard, four woodpecker interests, Alpine Accentor, Wallcreeper and Moustached Warbler.

Day 1
Arrival and Tiszaalpar winter-to-spring birding
Meet the arriving flight, transfer toward Kecskemet and use remaining daylight in Tiszaalpar wetland and woodland habitat when timing permits.
Day 2
Lake Tisza geese and Belapatfalva mountains
Search Lake Tisza for wintering geese and ducks, then continue north for woodpeckers, Alpine Accentor and Wallcreeper in suitable mountain habitat near Belapatfalva.
Day 3
Apaj, saline lakes and puszta raptors
Link Kelemen-szek, Boddi-szek, Apaj fishponds and Kunpeszer open country for Great Bustard, winter raptors and other steppe birds.
Day 4
Pusztaszer and southern Kiskunsag
Explore Pusztaszer fishponds, sodic lakes and surrounding grasslands for waterbirds, raptors and the first signs of spring activity.
Day 5
Departure transfer and optional closing stop
Return to the airport after checkout, using any genuine schedule margin for a final nearby birding session.
