About this tour

Follow the Black Sea coast on a private outing built around birdwatching and wildlife photography. A circuit of more than 100 kilometres links Lake Techirghiol, Agigea, Vadu and Navodari, combining saline water, freshwater habitats, reed beds and open shore.

Travel by four-wheel-drive vehicle, with binoculars and a telescope available for watching birds at a distance. The pace can be adjusted to your interests and photographic opportunities during the six-hour excursion.

The area holds resident birds alongside seasonal visitors. Depending on the time of year, the route offers opportunities for pelicans, ducks, grebes, waders and gulls. Itinerary

Day 1
Coastal lakes, Vadu wetlands and Navodari

Begin the birding circuit at saline Lake Techirghiol, where possible birds include pelicans, avocets, shelducks and grebes. Continue through Agigea for ducks, herons and kingfishers, then explore Vadu’s marshes, pools and dunes for waders and gulls. Navodari beach completes the coastal route, with winter visitors among the seasonal interests. Stops and observation time are adapted to the birds and your photography priorities.
