Explore the Olympic Peninsula with Carolyn Wilcox, owner and sole guide of Experience Olympic. This private outing is planned around the season, current conditions, your experience level and the birds or habitats that interest you most. New birders and experienced visitors are equally welcome.
Possible routes include Hurricane Ridge for subalpine and forest birds, Ediz Hook for year-round coastal birding, the Dungeness wetlands and estuary, or a full-day journey toward Neah Bay and Cape Flattery. A full day can also combine compatible nearby areas, such as Hurricane Ridge and Ediz Hook. The practical route is confirmed before the tour and may change with weather, tides, access and recent bird activity.
Carolyn brings a spotting scope and can provide loaner binoculars on request. The day includes time for identification, behavior, songs and calls, and understanding how birds use the peninsula’s varied habitats. Wild bird sightings are never guaranteed, but the itinerary is designed to make the most of the selected season and guest priorities.

Meet at the agreed point near Port Angeles and follow the route selected for the season, weather, tides and your priorities. The day may focus on one principal area or combine nearby habitats when time and access allow. Carolyn adjusts walking distance and viewing stops to the group, with careful use of binoculars and a spotting scope. A half-day lasts about four hours and a full day about eight hours.
