An 18-day self-drive grand tour across southern Saskatchewan, linking boreal forest, major lakes, prairie parks and river valleys during the nesting season.
About this tour
Follow an extensive 18-day route through Saskatchewan at the height of the breeding season. The journey combines wetland and shorebird sites with boreal forest, dry prairie, Cypress Hills, Grasslands National Park and the river valleys of the south-east.
Planned areas include Porter and Quill lakes, Duck Mountain, Redberry and Last Mountain Lake bird sanctuaries, Great Sand Hills, Cypress Hills, Old Man on His Back Plateau, Big Muddy, Souris River, Moose Mountain, Duck Lake and Pike Lake. Weather, road access and current bird activity may alter individual stops.
The current programme runs from June 12 to 29, 2027. The starting rate applies to a party of up to three that provides a non-smoking vehicle and transports the guide throughout; guests arrange their own meals, accommodation and park entry fees.
