About this tour
Explore Chaplin Shorebird Reserve, Reed Lake and nearby wetlands on an extended private day trip from Saskatoon. These saline and freshwater habitats can concentrate plovers, sandpipers, phalaropes, avocets and other waterbirds during migration.
The guide chooses stops according to current water levels and bird activity, with a spotting scope available for distant views. Birdwatchers and photographers are welcome, and guests travel in their own or rented vehicle.
Private tours are offered from mid-May through early November for parties of up to three. Migration timing changes through the season, so the species mix and numbers cannot be guaranteed on any date.
