About this tour

The opening day combines the wetland setting at Nusa Dua Lagoon with forest birding near Batukaru Temple before travelling west. Day two is reserved for Bali Barat National Park, where dry forest, woodland and coastal habitat support Bali Myna and a broad mix of Javan and Balinese birds.

The final day moves into the cooler Bedugul highlands for botanical-garden and forest birding before the airport or onward transfer. The official program includes transport, shared accommodation, meals, water, English-speaking guiding and park or conservation fees.

• Pick up at your hotel or airport and bird around Nusa Dua Lagoon for birds such as scarlet-headed flowerpecker, Sunda teal, and cerulean kingfisher.
• Drive to Batu Karu Temple for Javan forktail, flame-fronted barbet, yellow-eared barbet, Java sparrow, Javan kingfisher, and Javan munia, then drive to Bali Barat National Park.
• Stay overnight at a hotel near Bali Barat National Park.
Day 2

• Full day birding in Bali Barat National Park for green junglefowl, Bali myna, black-winged starling, black-thighed falconet, Javan banded pitta, savanna nightjar, Sunda scops owl, white-shouldered triller, island collared dove, fulvous-breasted jungle flycatcher, little barbet, coppersmith barbet, orange-breasted green pigeon, black-naped fruit dove, grey-rumped treeswift, laced woodpecker, Javan flameback, freckle-breasted woodpecker, bar-winged prinia, Javan tailorbird, Javan plover, rufous-backed kingfisher, and blue-eared kingfisher.
• Stay another night at the hotel near Bali Barat National Park.

• Drive early to Bedugul Botanical Garden for birding species such as flame-fronted barbet, Sunda warbler, Tenggara whistler, mountain leaf warbler, mountain tailorbird, Javan bush warbler, dark-backed imperial pigeon, black-backed fruit dove, rudy cuckoo dove, Javan whistling thrush, Sunda thrush, Javan heleia, mountain white-eye, Javan flowerpecker, Indonesia honeyeater, little pied flycatcher, short-tailed starling, Javan hawk eagle, Javan scimitar babbler, crescent-chested babbler, lesser shortwing, snowy-browed flycatcher, grey-cheeked bulbul, yellow-throated hanging parrot, scarlet minivet, white-browed crake, yellow bittern, cinnamon bittern, Swinhoe’s snipe, common moorhen, and striated grassbird.
