About this tour

Explore Bali Barat National Park with Iwan Melali, a local West Bali birding guide who focuses on wild birding only. The regular birdwatching trip runs for up to four hours and can be adjusted around the birder's target list, current access, tide timing and recent bird activity.

The route may include monsoon forest, savanna, evergreen forest, mangrove and shorebird areas inside West Bali National Park. Bali Starling is usually the easiest headline species, Sunda Scops Owl is best searched for very early in the morning, Black-winged Starling is possible but difficult because the population is low, and Javan Pitta is best from the middle to the end of the dry season. Shorebirds are tide and migration dependent, with peak movement around March and October.

This is a no-baiting, no-feeding and no-hide birding service. The standard outing is priced separately from park entrance and transport, while full-day or custom guiding can be arranged after inquiry when the route and target list require more time.
